Eleni Psychouli – The Ambassador of Thessalian Gastronomy

Eleni Psychouli is one of the most recognizable figures in Greek journalism with a specialization in gastronomy and culture. Born in Volos, she maintains strong ties with her hometown and the Thessalian land, which she consistently highlights in every professional step she takes.

Eleni Psychouli – The Ambassador of Thessalian Gastronomy

With her talented pen, she has written for major magazines and newspapers, such as Marie Claire, BHMAgourmet, Lifo, Athens Voice, Proto Thema, while she has also collaborated and presented television shows such as Chef στον Αέρα, Συνταγές Ψυχής (a series dedicated to Pelion and Thessaly), Pop Mageiriki, and others.

Taste as an expression of culture

Fluent in French and widely traveled, with studies in literature, film directing, and piano, Psihouli spent many years as an assistant to the sculptor Takis. She stands out for the depth of knowledge and sensitivity with which she approaches food—as a form of cultural expression. Her writing explores taste, spaces, human relationships, travel, and all the things that add beauty to life, in a direct and experiential way—bringing to light people, stories, and raw materials that are often left out of mainstream narratives.

Her relationship with Thessaly is not only emotional but also creative. Through articles, tributes, and television shoots, she has contributed decisively to repositioning Thessaly and especially Magnesia on the map of gastronomic Greece.

Today, she lives and works between Volos and Athens, while continuing to write, cook, do shows, and inspire, with the same goal always: to bring to light the truth of the place and taste, through an aesthetic that unites the local with the universal.

When she is not working, you will find her at her home, in Promyri of Southern Pelion that resembles her so much.
