The history of the Tsililis family in the field of distillation begins after World War II, when Efthymios Tsililis took over the community still in Fotino, Trikala, teaching the locals the secrets of tsipouro. In 1989, the distillery was established in Raxa, following a change in the legal framework that allowed tsipouro to be bottled. A year later, the first bottled "Tsililis Tsipouro" was released in Thessaly.
