Paleokarya Bridge The Paleokarya bridge, in Trikala, is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful and most photographed stone, arched bridges, not only in Thessaly, but throughout Greece.
The bridge itself is beautiful, but if we add the two waterfalls and the wonderful autumn colors, it turns into a scene reminiscent of J.R.R. Tolkien's "Middle Earth"! The bridge remained unknown until 2006 when a photograph of it was published for the first time in a travel magazine. Since then, it has been in the "sights" of countless photographers, professional and amateur, and today it is considered one of the most "instagrammable" places in Thessaly. According to oral tradition, the bridge was built around 1550 (there are no written testimonies), is 10.30 meters high, has an arch opening of 18.60 meters and a total length of 26.50 meters. You will find it easily by following the route from Pyli to Stournareika, as the signage is very informative.
