Lake Plastiras Open-Air Museum of Contemporary Art A unique addition to the Greek cultural landscape, the Lake Plastiras Open-Air Museum of Contemporary Art (YMST) “Agrafon Space-Time” is taking its first “steps” and holds much promise for the future.
On the occasion of the 1st International Sculpture Symposium organized in October 2024 in the Municipality of Lake Plastiras, artists from Greece, the Netherlands, Germany, Italy and Canada, completed the first works which are already located on the hill opposite Morfovouni (the homeland of the "Black Horseman", Nikolaos Plastiras), in a space that interacts harmoniously with the lake, Agrafa and the plain of Karditsa. In this space, human artistic creation meets Nature, this unsurpassed "artist," creating a new Eco-Art Place, as envisioned by the Mayor of Lake Plastiras, Mr. Panagiotis Nanos, with the invaluable help of the sculptor and Emeritus Professor of the Athens School of Fine Arts (ASFA), Thodoros Papagiannis, who is the visual consultant of the museum. The YMST dynamically places the region on the international map of Art and Culture and presents multi-level interest - visual, cultural, historical, philosophical, ecological, tourist and economic. One visit to the Open-Air Museum is not enough. Exposed as it is to the elements of nature, with every change of weather - fog, snow, rain, sunshine - even with every subdivision of the day, it offers a different, unique experience to the visitor each time! The first exhibits placed in the area are works by: Thodoros Papagiannis, Vassilis Vassili (expatriate from Canada), Reiner Fest (Germany), Francesco Moretti (Italy), Ton Kalle (Netherlands) Related Tags PLASTIRAS LAKE - As If It Had Always Been There,
