18 May 2026International Museum Day – Diachronic Museum of Larissa (May 18, 2026)On Monday, May 18, museums celebrate! The Ephorate of Antiquities of Larissa is once again participating with a variety of events and activities in the celebration of International Museum Day, established by the International Council of Museums, in order to highlight the role of museums in contemporary society.This year’s message for the occasion – “Museums Unite the World” – seeks to highlight the role of museums as spaces that do not erase differences, but instead create the conditions for them to be understood and approached with respect.Within this framework, an educational program entitled “Ancient Adventures. The Adventure of Memory” will be implemented, attended by beneficiaries of the ΕΕΝΑΛ Association – the Hellenic Alzheimer’s Disease Society of Larissa Prefecture – living with dementia, as well as volunteers.In addition, guided tours for the public have been scheduled at 11:00 a.m., 12:30 p.m., and 6:30 p.m., led by archaeologists of the Service. Image On the same day, at 8:00 p.m., in collaboration with the Deputy Mayorship of Culture of the Municipality of Larissa, a concert featuring works by P. Mascagni, G. Fauré, F. Doppler, I. Clark, and M.
