23 August 2026UNDER 30 FESTIVAL (23 August – 13 September)The initiative of the Region of Thessaly and Regional Governor Dimitris Kouretta to launch the first-ever call in Greece for Contemporary Culture through the Thessaly 2021–2027 Partnership Agreement (ESPA) is reshaping the cultural landscape of Thessaly. The Region of Thessaly has included the International Performing Arts Festival of Thessaly, UNDER30, in the programme. The festival is specifically designed to welcome and bring together young people from Thessaly, Greece and around the world. The International Thessaly Performing Arts Festival UNDER THIRTY (Thessaly Theatre Under 30 Festival) takes place every year from late August to mid-September, based in Larissa. THESSALY becomes the focal point of theatre, the focal point of the Performing Arts, and the focal point of youth creativity. During the Under 30 Festival, a series of performances by young professionals in the Performing Arts from Greece and abroad are presented. Larissa becomes a hub for international encounters and dialogue. The Performance ProgrammeImage The Festival is complemented by masterclasses, educational seminars, talks and parallel events that deepen the relationship between audiences, the Performing Arts and artists. The parallel events take place in venues where new meanings and connections are created between the Performing Arts and the places that host them. It is the only cultural institution in Greece dedicated to the Performing Arts that focuses on the artistic creativity of young people. The Masterclass ProgrammeImage According to Thessaly Regional Governor Dimitris Kouretta, “UNDER30 was designed as a counterargument for those who want to leave the country because they feel that it is driving them away, for those who may think that conservatism will always prevail in the countryside, and for those who are ‘certain’ that no one listens to them. It was designed to show that here in Thessaly, we listen to them with an open mind and an open heart. Throughout my years as a university professor, I have learned to stand by these young people, men and women who continue to believe in themselves, in the future and in their country.” ΣΧΕΤΙΚΟΙ ΠΡΟΟΡΙΣΜΟΙLARISSA – The City of Pleasant Surprises,
