Pinios Festival / Larissa (June 18–21)

Larissa is preparing to welcome the Pinios Festival once again, the city’s largest institution of culture, creativity, and community participation, transforming the riverbanks into an open space for gathering, entertainment, and expression for visitors of all ages.

From June 18 to 21, Larissa’s most beloved open-air event will once again bring the Pinios River to life with a rich programme of activities and events. Concerts, workshops, children’s activities, artistic and environmental initiatives, along with dozens of other happenings, will create a vibrant four-day celebration that showcases the city’s creative energy and its unique connection to the river’s natural environment.

A special highlight of this year’s programme is the music events, featuring prominent representatives of the Greek music scene performing on the banks of the Pinios. Dimitra Galani, Eleni Tsaligopoulou, Eleonora Zouganeli, Marina Spanou, Anser, Magic de Spell, Social Waste, Estudiantina, along with other beloved artists and local bands, will offer audiences unforgettable musical evenings, creating moments that will remain etched in the memories of festival-goers.

The opening of this year’s festival would not be complete without the Percussion Ensemble of the Larissa Music School, which will set the rhythm from the First Ancient Theatre of Larissa all the way to the river.

The pathways fill with music, the trees are illuminated, groups of friends grow larger, and the city takes on a different rhythm. For four days, the banks of the Pinios are transformed into a vibrant meeting point where art, culture, participation, and entertainment coexist harmoniously with the festival’s central themes: Music and the Environment.

The Pinios Festival is much more than a series of events. It is a celebration of the city, its people, and collective creativity. An institution that each year highlights Larissa’s unique relationship with its river and aspires to serve as a dynamic platform for experiences, the exchange of ideas, and creative expression.

The Pinios Festival is organized by the Municipality of Larissa – Deputy Mayorship of Culture, in collaboration with local organizations, associations, volunteers, and creative groups, and is co-funded by the Thessaly Region through the THESSALY Programme (ESPA 2021–2027).

This summer, the rendezvous is once again by the river.
Where the music sounds louder, conversations last longer, and the city’s most beautiful moments find the space to flourish.
