Photography Exhibition “Our Villages…” – Volos (May 16–26, 2026)

The photographic association Volos Lens is a non-profit artistic photography club founded by a group of photography enthusiasts with the aim of creating a photographic journey in the field of imagery connected to the city (and more broadly to the region of Magnesia) and its culture, without limitations or borders. To its credit, it has organized 25 exhibitions, and since 2015 it has been presenting the photography exhibition for Maritime Week under the auspices of the MAGNITON KIVOTOS, while this marks the fifth year that it has participated in the events of the Region of Thessaly.

The original core of the group and its founding members emerged from the photography seminars initiated by the distinguished photographer from Volos, Argyris Zafeiridis. The founding members aspire to provide a home within the association for the dreams and ambitions of amateur (and professional) artistic photographers and, through their activities, to contribute significantly to the dissemination and promotion of artistic photography.

The members of Volos Lens would like to thank the Deputy Regional Governor of Magnesia, Anna-Maria Papadimitriou, for the kind invitation, the Volos Port Authority for providing the venue, and the exceptional photographer Theodoros Gavardinas for the poster photograph from 1960s Skopelos.

In the photography exhibition "Our Villages...", 50 photographs from 35 different locations across the prefecture of Magnesia are presented.

*Exhibition Opening: Saturday, May 16, 2026, at 19:00
Visiting Hours: 10:00 -13:00 & 18:00-21:00
