The opening of the exhibition will take place on Thursday, 29 January 2026, at 10:00.On 5 February 2026, at 19:00, the Governor of the Region of Thessaly, Dimitris Kouretas, will officially announce the launch of the Tloupas Path 2026 photography competition. The project has been included in the Thessaly Programme 2021–2027 (ESPA), within the framework of the action “Takis Tloupas Photography Competition”.Image The Tloupas PATH – Photography Award of Thessaly’s Heritage is a contemporary cultural institution inspired by the work of Takis Tloupas, one of the most important Greek photographers of the 20th century.Recognizing the timeless value of Takis Tloupas’s photographic legacy, the Region of Thessaly inaugurates through this institution a contemporary cultural initiative dedicated to the preservation, promotion, and creative reinterpretation of the photographic memory of the region.Takis Tloupas’s work is deeply connected with people and with the natural and social landscape of Thessaly. Through his photographic gaze, the landscape becomes a field of lived experience, and the human figure an organic part of its environment. His images capture moments of everyday life, labor, and silence, at a time poised between tradition and the changes yet to come. The thematic cycle “Turning Point”, which was the theme of the 2025 competition, engages directly with this perspective, focusing on moments of transition—where the end of one era coexists with the beginning of another, where loss meets possibility and uncertainty gives way to opportunity. The exhibition’s contemporary photographic approaches explore the relationship between humans and their environment in a world in constant transformation. The exhibition will be open to the public on weekdays and weekends, from 10:00 to 22:00, inviting visitors to reflect on memory, responsibility, and the future of the region.
