3rd Panhellenic Truffle Festival

Tens of thousands of people visit Kalambaka during the three-day Panhellenic Truffle Festival, which, despite its “young age,” has already become an “institution”!

3rd Panhellenic Truffle Festival

Since its first year in 2023, the Panhellenic Truffle Festival has enjoyed great success, even winning the gold award at the Tourism Awards. With 11,000 visitors in the first year and over 15,000 in the second, the festival has won its “bet” with the public. The festival is organized by the Natural History Museum of Meteora in collaboration with the Municipality of Meteora and with the support of the Region of Thessaly.

In its second iteration, top personalities of Greek gastronomy, such as chef Lefteris Lazarou, who was the President of the Organizing Committee, and Ilias Mamalakis and Nikos Sarantos, who were honored for their work, graced the event with their presence.

During the three days of the festival, visitors learned a lot through their participation in seminars on truffles and mushrooms, while at the same time a rich entertainment and artistic program unfolded for young and old.

At the culmination of the festival, on the last day, more than 50 chefs prepared, among other things, over 20,000 servings of food (13 different dishes), 5,000 mushroom pies, and 17,000 truffle and mushroom sweets (4 different kinds) for free! Of course, none of this would have been possible without the participation of the 61 sponsors and over 200 volunteers!
