This four-day celebration is dedicated to nature, culture, history, and sustainable development. The festival invites residents and visitors of all ages to take part, free of charge, in a diverse programme of outdoor activities, workshops, cultural events and talks, designed to introduce participants to the Agrafa region while strengthening the bond between people and nature. The Stefaniada Lake Festival is organised by the non-profit organisation Agrafa Heritage , in collaboration with the Municipality of Argithea, the Region of Thessaly – Regional Unit of Karditsa, and the adventure tourism company Finix Adventures. The festival aims to establish itself as a landmark event that brings people closer to nature, promotes outdoor recreation, education, exploration and cultural expression, while fostering environmental awareness and supporting the sustainable development of mountainous Argithea. For the organisers, the Stefaniada Lake Festival is intrinsically linked to the preservation of the Agrafa region. Their motto is:“If you get to know and love a place, you will also protect it.”Through this message, the festival seeks to highlight the challenges facing the region today, including depopulation, demographic decline, the hardships of life in remote mountain communities, and environmental threats.
